about

Christian apologists such as G. K. Chesterton have repeated and amplified the significance of the “death” of Pan, suggesting that with the “death” of Pan came the advent of theology. To this effect, Chesterton once said, “It is said truly in a sense that Pan died because Christ was born. It is almost as true in another sense that men knew that Christ was born because Pan was already dead. A void was made by the vanishing world of the whole mythology of mankind, which would have asphyxiated like a vacuum if it had not been filled with theology.” It was interpreted with concurrent meanings in all four modes of medieval exegesis: literally as historical fact, and allegorically as the death of the ancient order at the coming of the new. Eusebius of Caesarea in his Praeparatio” - Taken from an article “The Great God Pan”

In PAN. I utilise the imagery of the goat-god and devil to sing a song of love. Pan means all. And all is essentially “god”. Featuring my partner, Hades and his art and home decor. I wanted to document myself falling in love with lyrical content referencing the Age of Aquairus that mirrors our oceans rising (“Like a tidal wave”). Where the feminine waters rise to reset the land for a new age, as Earth does with her cycles of time (eg; Atlantis). Here I wanted to invert the often dark, terror-filled devilishness of the Devil/Pan archetype that attempts to make us fear nature and our human natures (driving us into systems of control) into a poppy love-song of happiness and hope that embraces nature and the natural world as our healer, teacher and guide.

lyrics

Find a way to feel my heart today
I found time, to feel my heart today
Like a tidal wave, hey.
Like a tidal wave.

Find a way to feel my heart today
I found time, to feel my heart today
